Minister Adrianes -CICA President Kees Barneveld and
Board Member Dino Daal

The development of Curaçao as an Information Society is of crucial importance for our social and economic development as an autonomous nation. In the past some serious efforts towards becoming an Information Society were made. However, lately all these efforts seem to have come to a standstill and we need to get moving again.

  • Evening with CICA with Mr. Maurice Adrieans

Mr Van Bladel

  • Research ICT sector Curaçao completed
CICA completed a study on the ICT sector of Curaçao. One of the ways to approach the entrepreneurs in this sector was through an inquiry.
Another part of the study was to make an inventory of the organizations in the ICT industry, mainly using the information from the Chamber of Commerce. Since ICT organizations are scattered throughout different subsectors (such as "professional advice", "retail" etcetera) this proved to be eleborate and time consuming. The conslusion is that the ICT industry consists of approximately 100 companies and that approximately 2% of the labor force works for organizations in this industry. (Which by the way is below the international average). For further information please call 738-6299.
